Epic Accelerator Experience

The Unreal Engine Accelerator Experience is a hands-on educational opportunity that will be exclusively offered to select educators and students during the E2 Weekend. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn how to use interactive 3D programs like Unreal Engine, Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) in the classroom or as a creator!

Event Details

Friday’s session focuses on classroom applications of Twinmotion, Photogrammetry, and Unreal Engine and how educators can boost learning through Unreal Editor for Fortnite the introduction of Interactive 3D in the classroom. 

Saturday’s session focuses on how NC State students and faculty can use Fortnite’s Creative toolset and Unreal Editor for Fortnite to create anything they can imagine using assets and devices from the popular game, Fortnite, in addition to custom assets. Participants will learn the basics of Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fortnite Creative. These easy-to-use 3D building environments allows users to create stunning environments and immersive experiences and introduces participants to the creator economy.

There are no prerequisites to participate. We start with each tool from the perspective that all participants have little to no experience.

8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

On Friday, educators will learn how to bring Interactive 3D into their classroom to support their students in learning industry standard skills across a variety of industries including games, TV, film, architecture, advertising, animation and more!  You’ll start with a tour of the Albright Entrepreneurship Garage at NC State followed by two workshops that will jump start your experience with interactive 3D. Workshops will guide educators in bringing projects using Unreal Engine and photogrammetry to provide amazing opportunities for their students.

Saturday, April 6, 2024

8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

On Saturday, you will start with a tour of the Albright Entrepreneurship Garage at NC State followed by the Unreal Editor for Fortnite workshop.

Next you will create your first game or immersive experience with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), a new PC application for designing, developing, and publishing projects and experiences directly into Fortnite.

Open to students, faculty and esports enthusiasts.

Unreal Engine

Epic Games’ Unreal Engine is the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D tool. Creators across games, film and television, architecture, automotive, manufacturing, live events, simulation and other industries choose Unreal to deliver cutting-edge content, interactive experiences, and immersive virtual worlds. The resources and instruction provided in these sessions will set you up to support your students in using these industry standard tools without the need to be an expert.

Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN)

Fortnite’s Creative toolset allows students to create anything they can imagine using assets and devices from the popular game, Fortnite. This easy-to-use 3D building environment allows students to create stunning environments and immersive experiences for any content area.
