Alagu Periyannan and Theivanai Palaniappan Scholar and NC State Entrepreneurship Scholar

Rachel Harris is a senior studying industrial engineering at the College of Engineering. Her goal is to connect her passion for music, engineering, and entrepreneurship to impact those around her.

Rachel has taken part in a variety of extracurriculars during her time at NC State. She recently founded NC State’s newest A cappella group, Chordination. During their first competitive season in 2021, they brought home 1st place from the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Quarterfinals.

On campus, she works as an Engineering Ambassador, focusing on K-12 STEM outreach and the First-Year Engineering Program. She also works as an Academic Peer Mentor. She’s been able to grow her entrepreneurial skills as an Entrepreneurship Student Ambassador during the 2020-21 school year and will continue working on the team throughout her senior year. Additionally, she is the vice president of Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society, part of the University Scholars Program and is heavily involved with the Women and Minority Engineering Program.
