Jared Clark
Electrical Engineering, Sophomore
Bio
Jared is a sophomore at NC State studying Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering with a concentration in Renewable Electric Energy Systems. He is also pursuing an undergraduate certificate in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship from NC State Entrepreneurship and University College. His goal is to build a successful tech startup and develop product management skills while furthering his entrepreneurship and engineering education at NC State.
As an incoming freshman, he was selected to be a member of the inaugural Entrepreneurship Scholars cohort. This opportunity began his involvement with the entrepreneurial ecosystem at NC State. With the help of the other scholars and several faculty at NC State Entrepreneurship and the Shelton Leadership Center, he spearheaded the creation of the CREATE Program – a year-long entrepreneurial program for leadership development of high school students.
Jared has also joined the SolarPack team at NC State as an electrical team member, where he is designing high and low-voltage components of a solar vehicle. He is also a student leader at Summit College, a campus ministry that allows him to mentor other college students every week academically, mentally and spiritually. Additionally, Jared is the director of community service of the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, a part of the University Scholars Program, and a resident of the Albright Entrepreneurs Village. Jared is excited to use the John and Linda Leazar Award in Entrepreneurship in the 2021-2022 academic year to pursue his personal entrepreneurial endeavors.
In his free time, Jared enjoys working out, investing, obstacle course races, participating in intramurals with friends, reading and discovering new ways to improve himself.
