Bio
Dan Webb is a senior studying business administration with a concentration in marketing in the Poole College of Management. He transferred to NC State last year as a junior through the recently established Community College Collaboration (C3) program and has been engaged with NC State Entrepreneurship since he attended Wake Tech.
Dan is a designer, a problem solver, and a business-minded student with a strong passion for science and technology. While in community college, Dan entered the RIoT Accelerator program in downtown Raleigh with his idea for a modular smart horticultural lighting product under the name Folux Labs. During the pandemic, Dan worked at First Flight Venture Center in Research Triangle Park to help expand their rapid prototyping program with the addition of a $2.6M grant from the EDA. He worked remotely with companies across the world to offer virtual education courses on IoT technology, product development, and customer discovery.
After gaining experience with research-based startups, Dan co-founded a new venture called Geekspeak with NC State professor, Marshall Brain. The company specializes in providing comprehensive marketing services for startups and companies in tech and the life sciences. Geekspeak aims to help companies go-to-market with new technology through a marketing process that encourages success for commercialization stage companies.
