Rachel Harris is a junior at NC State studying Industrial & Systems Engineering, she is also minoring in Vocal Performance.
Before graduating from NC State, Rachel hopes to create a non-profit organization that provides resources for underprivileged children to introduce them to the importance of STEM, build their confidence, and inspire them to pursue a STEM career.
Rachel is involved in a variety of extracurriculars on campus. She works as an Engineering Ambassador where she assists students in the first-year engineering program, recruits high-schoolers, and does a lot of K-12 STEM outreach. Rachel has a second on-campus job as an Academic Peer Mentor at NC State’s Academic Success Center and volunteers as a mentor for freshmen minority students within the Women and Minority Engineering Programs. She is heavily involved in NC State’s music department where she has been in choir and A cappella since the beginning of her college career. Rachel also participates in the University Scholars Program and is the President of Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society. This school year, Rachel will be living in the Albright Entrepreneurs Village where she hopes to gain the knowledge and resources to create her own non-profit organization. Overall, Rachel loves to serve others and is excited to continue pursuing this passion as an Entrepreneurship Ambassador.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys singing and making music. She also loves to play card and board games with her friends…but she loves it, even more, when she wins!
