2018 Lulu eGames Finalists Announced

All year, NC State entrepreneurs have been developing their ventures in preparation to compete in the 2018 Lulu eGames.  Congratulations to the following teams who have been selected as finalists from a pool of our 175 entries.

New Venture

  • Aeva: Aeva is designing hardware that will speed up the aging process of alcohol, allowing breweries, distilleries, and wineries to increase profits, experiment quickly, and scale production in real time. Team members: Steven Guido and Zachary Fearnside
  • Cao Hydrogen Electrolyzer: Cao is a new electrolyzer capable of converting water and electricity into hydrogen gas. Team: Oscar Llama, Jake Trimble, Frankie Womack, Benjamin Tennant and Adam Read
  • Chemios: Chemios is a revolutionary cloud laboratory that makes chemistry research more efficient, accessible, and affordable. Team: Kobi Felton, Chandler Gonzales, Shraddha Rathod and Casey Hillenberg
  • Freshspire: Freshspire is a network that connects food suppliers who have excess produce to restaurants who want to buy it at a lower cost. Team: Shraddha Rathod, Thomas Armstrong, Sofia Abdo, Emerson Barnhill and Rachel Poythress
  • Mitramag: Mitramag aims to provide a first and only, low risk, leaky heart valve fix for dogs leveraging a patented device that provides curative results to the 8 million dogs suffering from heart disease. Team: Oscar Llama, Jake Trimble, Frankie Womack, Benjamin Tennant and Adam Read
  • TRASHR: Trashr installs sensors inside dumpsters to create route optimizations and data analytics for waste management companies and environmental efforts. Team: Hartley Leroy, Nick Sischo, Goutham Subramanian and Nick Conlon
  • Tueri: Tuéri is a company focused on improving the safety of cyclists through innovative and aesthetic accessories that improves property security and provides a method of communication with motorists. Team: David Majeski
  • Vital Guide: Vital Guide is a vital sign monitoring system for hospitals to track patient health and location in the emergency department. Team: Alper Ender, Chris Fesmire, Pratik Bendale and Anthony Workman
  • Workout@Work: Workout@Work is a digital, preventative health tool providing fitness and stress management for employees. Team: Jelyse Dawson

  • Corkboard Coffee+: Corkboard Coffee+ is designed to make affordable, local art a permanent part of the morning coffee run for hundreds of thousands of people that otherwise have inconsistent access to it. Team: Kyle Taylor

The Lulu eGames is NC State’s annual startup competition, awarding over $100,000 to entrepreneurs each year. The competition is sponsored by online publishing company Lulu.com.
