Pro Series: Make It, Snap It, Sell It

For the Spring 2022 semester, NC State Entrepreneurship is excited to offer a new special edition of our Pro-Series workshops. “Make It, Snap It, Sell It” is a four-part, hands-on workshop where a small cohort of students will go through the process of creating something on our prototyping lab, get hands-on training on how to professionally photograph the item, and ultimately get the tools you need to sell it. The workshop schedule is as follows, students must commit to attending all four events.

Tuesday, Feb 1st, 11 am – 12 pm

• • Introductory Session: Meet your cohorts, share your ideas, and work through any mental roadblocks you may have as a group. Get hyped before you start creating!

Tuesday, Feb 8th, 11 am – 2 pm*

• • Make It: Starting from scratch, students will come up with an idea of a product they’d like to create using the NC State Entrepreneurship Garage Prototype Lab. Anything from art works like wood engravings, stickers, to functional merchandise like keychains, shirts and cup holders, you’ll come up with something awesome, and our helpful Garage staff will assist in bringing it to reality. *This 3 hour date will be comprised of one-hour sessions, you will not need to attend all 3 hours.

Tuesday, Feb 15th, 11 am – 12 pm

• • Snap It: So you’ve made something cool, now it’s time to immortalize your hard work with a slick photo! We’re bringing in a photographer and some display equipment to help teach the basics of product photography. How do I make my photo look professional without having to be a professional photographer? Maybe you know your way around a camera, but need tips on lighting and arranging your merch for the perfect photo shoot. We’re here to help you grab that perfect shot.

Tuesday, Feb 22nd, 11 am – 12 pm

• • Sell It! So you made something cool, and you’ve got some photos that make it look even cooler. Now it’s time to get it into the hands of the people! Learn about how small makers get started selling their creations.

This series is free and open to NC State students. As a semi-intensive, hands-on series, spaces are extremely limited. In order to attend, students must RSVP and commit to all four of the above dates and times. No entrepreneur is an island, and it’s important we all work as a group to make something awesome.

All sessions are at the NC State Entrepreneurship Garage at Partners 1, 1017 Main Campus Dr. Suite 1650 on Centennial Campus. If RSVPs have closed, please email entrepreneurship@ncsu.edu to join the waitlist.
